“Through the reading and writing of fiction and the practice of coaching, I strive to help people become their authentic selves and discover their own desires, to guide them into their process of becoming.”
The only son of a paraplegic superhero mother and a pigeon-racing aviator-by-proxy father, Malcolm has sought out a life of rich, unusual, and unique experiences that help him to commune with other worlds inside his novels and connect with others through his coaching.
Both his novels and his coaching draw on the principles of Desire and Becoming, about which he has learned through the theoretical and practical applications of the philosophies of schizoanalysis, orgasmic meditation, and teaching pedagogy.
He has taught classic literature, creative writing, Russian literature, and U.S. history for two decades.
Since 2016, he has led Desire-based community in the California East Bay in Oakland and Berkeley and coached clients in multiple countries to discover their desires and attain greater pleasure, intimacy, and happiness.
Malcolm McCannon lives with his partners and children and splits his time between the changing seasons of the Midwest in Kansas City, Missouri and the disappearing paradise of the great coastal redwoods in Northern California.
